Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une céramique transparente de haute densité à base d'yttrium polycristallin mélangé à du lanthane. Selon la présente invention, la concentration du lanthane est comprise entre 6 et 14 % en moles. Le procédé de préparation comporte les étapes successives suivantes : - mélange du lanthane ou un corps composé libérant du lanthane avec de l'yttrium ou un corps composé libérant de l'yttrium à la cuisson; - séchage de la poudre résultante; - cuisson de la poudre séchée à une température de 1 000 degrés C dans l'air; - moulage de la poudre cuite de façon à obtenir la forme recherchée ; - frittage du produit moulé pendant un temps compris entre 1/6 et 6 heures à une température supérieure à la température de transition de la phase H, et entre 1/2 et 6 heures à une température inférieure à celle de la transition phase H à C, en atmosphère suffisamment faible en oxygène de façon à éviter toute oxydation. Application : enveloppes tubulaires de lampes à vapeur de sodium.
