Abstract

The appts. mixes a gas and a liq. in predetermined proportions. It comprises a mixer with a means of producing a lowered pressure of which the main inlet is joined to the gas supply and the outlet to the equipment in which the gas/liq. mixt. is to be used. The liq. is stored in a tank which is connected with the gas supply. The liq. passes from the tank into an intermediate reservoir, in which the liq. is maintained at a constant height, and from the bottom of this reservoir intot he suction zone of the mixer. The appts. using the mixt. may be a heat generator or a flame producer such as blowpipes, burners or internal combustion engines. The appts. allows precise regulation of the liq. quantity added and is robust, reliable, cheap and not cumbersome. Its operation is independent of external energy sources.
