Abstract

The suspension piece and support are for overhead cables. The support is normally hung from a post and has an integral clamping element securing the cable in position preventing axial movement without damaging the cable itself. The support has a re-informed suspension hook (6) which widens out into a 'U' shaped cradle (10) in which the cable (8) rests. Clamping of the cable is by a shaped block (13) which is pressed down onto the cable by a cam (18) which is manually turned from the relaxed to the pressure position by a lever (16) at the rear of the support and connected to the cam by a rod (17) passing through it.
