Abstract

The method is for attaching electrical cables to a wall esp. the sides of an underground gallery. The method allows cables to be quickly mounted, properly tensioned and to be mounted side by side. The cables are mounted using equispaced support brackets directly fixed to the wall. Each bracket is divided into a series of compartments by mutually parallel plates. These plates have one tapered and toothed edge against which engages a jaw ultimately holding the cable system in position against the bracket base (7). The jaw is basically in three parts articulated (9,20) such that the action of an 'L' shaped lever forces its catch surface (13) over the toothed plate edge (18). The lever pivoting about one edge (9) then forces the jaw face (21) against the cable system.
