Abstract

L'invention concerne les piles à métal alcalin liquide et à électrolyte solide et vise un procédé assurant le recouvrement d'une face de l'électrolyte par le métal alcalin. La pile comporte un réservoir 21, contenant du sodium liquide 20 surmonté par du gaz occlus, dont la base communique avec une région capillaire 16 juxtaposée à la surface d'un tube en électrolyte 10, de façon que la pression de gaz refoule le sodium dans cette région 16. Le gaz est engendré par une substance sous capsule 24 telle qu'azoture de sodium qui se décompose au chauffage ou au contact avec le sodium, ce qui permet d'assembler et de sceller la pile avant la libération du gaz.
