Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation de coke pour électrodes selon lequel on peut utiliser des charges d'alimentation provenant de pétrole à haute teneur en soufre. Selon ce procédé les produits provenant du pétrole sont introduits avec le goudron de houille ou avec de l'extrait de charbon, dans une colonne de distillation d'une unité de cokéfaction différée où leur homogénéisation de même que le transfert de chaleur et de masse se produise à contrecourant de vapeurs et de gaz provenant des chambres à coke, à la suite de quoi le mélange homogène est soumis à la cokéfaction. Le coke pour électrodes ainsi obtenu présente de bonnes caractéristiques électriques et mécaniques.
