Abstract

The differential gear has a shell (10) which rotates on its central axis (11) driven by the toothed wheel (12). A cross shaft (13) carries two satellite pinions (14) mounted at the ends of the cross shaft. The pinions mesh with the pinions (15). The pinions are mounted on the shaft ends (16) on the same axis and are keyed to the shaft. The shell also carries a further pinion (17) connected to the vehicle speedometer. The drive is carried on the taper roller bearings (18) mounted in the fixed housing (19). The end of the cross shaft (13) is carried in bearings (20) made from elastic material. The cross shaft may be replaced by three half shafts 120 deg. apart.
