Abstract
An adjustable connector for fibre optic waveguides comprises two tubes in which the waveguides are located eccentrically and a sleeve which has a V-shaped recess divided into two sections radially offset from each other. A spiral spring (8) embraces the sleeve (5) and the tubes (3, 4) and presses the latter into the V-shaped recess in the sleeve. A slotted outer tube (11, 12, 13) engages the two ends of the spring to reduce its tension for assembly and dismantling of the tubes. Pref. the ends of the tubes have circumferential grooves (15, 16) and the spring presses balls (17, 18) located in the V-shaped recesses into these grooves.
