Abstract

Dilution appts. comprises respective flow paths for the diluent and additive to be mixed, each of which leads to a common mixing space via respective orifices of the same size and shape. The liquid pressure in the diluent flow path determines that in the additive flow path with the former flow path communicating with the common mixing space via more than one orifice. Used esp. for mixing water with liquid fertiliser, but also in mixing liquid colouring or flavouring with a main flow of beverages. Accuracy and uniform mixing is obtd. over a high range of flow rates since the pressure drops across the orifices are the same.
