Abstract

1463932 Fluid regulation CANADIAN PATENTS & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 27 Feb 1975 [4 March 1974] 8265/75 Heading G3H [Also in Division G4] Liquid fluid operated control device, e.g. for digital or proportional operation, contains an emitter nozzle 2 supplying a laminar liquid emitter jet, a control nozzle supplying a liquid control jet having a Reynolds number less than 550 so that the emitter jet is deflected inward towards the control nozzle and a receiver 4 downstream of the emitter and arranged to receive an undeflected emitter jet. A NOR gate contains an emitter nozzle 21 two control nozzles 23, 25, a receiver 27 and a sump capable of removing deflected liquid. The nozzles may have circular or square cross-sections. An oscillator may be produced by coupling the output of the receiver to a control port.
