Abstract

1,243,016. Fluidic control devices. AGA AB. Sept.24, 1968 [Nov. 11, 1967], No.45289/68. Heading G3H. A fluidic control device comprises two convergentdivergent nozzles 2, 3 arranged opposite each other with a control input 4 therebetween. Fluid admitted from the input 4 can be caused to flow through either nozzle and mix with fluid sucked in through the other nozzle. The nozzles can have inlet portions of different shape, or they can have different cross-sectional areas. One nozzle can be shut-off, to cause the fluid to lock-on to the other nozzle even after the one nozzle has been opened. A collapsible rubber bag can be fitted to one nozzle, which is filled to a certain pressure, whereupon the fluid discharges through the other open channel, until a negative pressure appears in the nozzle to which it is connected, causing the fluid to change direction and fill the bag. The nozzles can be adjustable or replaceable with respect to a centre section to vary their relative spacing. In Fig. 2 (not shown), two input channels (5) and (6) enter the walls of respective nozzles either by an annular slot, or annularly arranged openings, it being possible to connect each channel with a feedback from a nozzle, or by a separate fluid which can be at a negative pressure.
