Bei den zur Verfügung stehenden Zumischern ist es konstruktiv nicht möglich, das Schaummittel während des Zumischvorganges zu separieren und als reines Konzentrat aufzufangen, um es in den Schaummittelbehälter zurückzuführen. Membrantankzumischer werden bei einem Durchfluß von 500 l/mm nach VdS CEA 4001 (Teil M) bzw. bei minimalem und maximalem Durchflußwert mit Herstellung von Schaum-Wasser-Gemisch nach EN 13565-2 (11.3.2.4.2.) zur Ermittlung der Zumischrate getestet. Das Auffangen des Schaum-Wasser-Gemisches bei großen Durchflußwerten ist ausgesprochen schwierig, da es bei der Einleitung in einen Auffangbehälter zu erheblichen Verschäumungen kommt. Weiterhin müssen große Mengen Schaum-Wasser-Gemisch entsorgt werden. Bisher konnte die Zumischrate nur mittels des aufgefangenen Schaum-Wasser-Gemisches und Anmischen von weiteren drei Referenzlösungen über Leitfähigkeitsmeßgeräte oder Refraktometer ermittelt werden.
