Abstract

On trouve dans le sérum des patients atteints de cancers une nouvelle catégorie de glycoprotéines produites par les cellules cancéreuses, mais non par les cellules normales; on peut caractériser cette glycoprotéine spécifique des tumeurs par son point iso-électrique d'environ 4,2 à 4,6 et le fait qu'elle correspond à la fraction du sérum initial soluble dans l'acide perchlorique et qui a une teneur en acide sialique supérieure à environ 0,065 mg/ml. L'invention s'applique en particulier à la mise en évidence d'un cancer tumorigène chez un patient humain par détection de la présence de la glycoprotéine spécifique des tumeurs dans le sérum.
