Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de fusion de matières particulaires et un four tournant pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé. Selon l'invention, la matière finement divisée est déposée au moyen d'une lance d'alimentation 11 sur la paroi incandescente d'un four tournant 2 à l'avant de la nappe de matière fondue contenue dans le four, et au-dessous et sur le côté de la lance du brûleur 10, de façon que la matière déposée soit hors du trajet de la flamme et des gaz de combusion. La matière est retenue contre la paroi du four par la force centrifuge et elle fond rapidement et s'écoule dans la nappe de sorte que l'entraînement de particules de matière dans les gaz d'echappement du four est évité. L'invention est applicable, notamment, à la fusion des minerais métallifères.
