Abstract

Bootees for hoofed animals, esp. sheep, are made from moulded pockets of flexible rubber or plastic material (esp elastomer) shaped to suit the general profile of the foot, ankle and skin of the animal and having a narrow mouth which can be dilated by a suitable tool for fitting. The tool is a scissors-action lever with flanges projecting at right angles to the levers to enter the top of the boot. The boot may be ventilated by micro-perforations and secured by press-stud or elastic or non-elastic laces. Esp. suitable for treating and isolating animals suffering from footrot.
