Abstract

La présente invention concerne la production électrolytique de persulfate de sodium. La préparation de persulfate de sodium dans une cellule électrolytique ayant une cathode protégée est obtenue par l'électrolyse directe d'une solution aqueuse d'anolyte dans laquelle est dissoute initialement une quantité suffisante d'un mélange de sulfates et de peroxydisulfates de sodium et d'ammonium pour donner une solution de charge d'anolyte contenant, en poids, de 5 à 9 % d'ions sodium, de 12 à 30 % d'ions sulfate, de 1 à 4 % d'ions ammonium, une quantité efficace d'un polariseur et éventuellement jusqu'à 20 % d'ions peroxydisulfate. Le catholyte de la cellule est une solution d'acide sulfurique, qui peut contenir des ions Na**+ et NH4 **+ et la densité de courant électrique est d'au moins 0,5 ampère par centimètre carré de surface de platine de l'anode. Le produit obtenu est utile comme agent de nettoyage du cuivre dans l'industrie des circuits imprimés.
