Abstract

Procédé perfectionné pour préparer le pyrocatéchol et l'hydroquinone par hydroxylation du phénol. On fait réagir avec le phénol à une température comprise entre - 10 et 80 degrés C une solution d'un acide percarboxylique dans un solvant organique inerte pratiquement exempte d'humidité et de peroxyde d'hydrogène. Le procédé selon l'invention donne les deux diphénols recherchés, dont l'importance industrielle est bien connue, avec d'excellents rendements.
