Abstract
L'invention concerne une méthode et un dispositif permettant de former des fibres optiques très pures et mécaniquement très résitantes selon un processus de fabrication continue. Un creuset 6 comporte plusieurs entonnoirs concentriques 29, 31, 33 dans chacun desquels sont injectés un plasma 2, 2', 2" et les matériaux 30, 32, 34 servant à produire les différentes couches de verre de la fibre. Le chauffage du creuset se fait par l'enroulement 16 tandis que des becs 18, 19 introduisent dans l'enceinte 10 des fluides de nettoyage et de protection de la fibre 24. Celle-ci s'enroule sur la bobine 27 après le passage dans deux bains de matière plastique qui lui fournissent sa gaine de protection extérieure. L'invention trouve une application, notamment, dans les usines fabriquant les fibres optiques utilisées en communications.
