Abstract

Procédé pour améliorer les propriétés des polymères de chlorure de vinyle, au cours duquel le polymère pulvérulent est soumis à un traitement sous pression réduite après élimination de la quantité principale des monomères non transformés, procédé caractérisé en ce que l'on utilise un polymère avec une valeur K allant de 55 à 62, obtenu suivant les procédés en masse ou en phase gazeuse dans des conditions connues, en présence d'un peroxyde de di-(alkyl-2 benzoyle) aqueux ou d'un peroxyde de di-(alcoxy-2 benzoyle) avec 1 à 4 atomes de carbone dans le radical alkyle ou alcoxy comme initiateur, et pouvant éventuellement renfermer une composante de polymère de chlorure de vinyle préparé selon le procédé en masse, avec la même valeur K que celle du polymère à préparer, et en ce que le traitement est effectué sous pression réduite en plusieurs étapes et à température élevée. Les polymères ainsi obtenus présentent une faible teneur en chlorure de vinyle résiduel.
