Abstract

The system improves a pneumatic projection of finely-divided or powdery material. Concentric to the discharge nozzle for the mixture of material and transporting gas is a second nozzle supplied with compressed gas. This forms an annular envelope of gas round the mixture concerned. The nozzles may be supplied by the same source of compressed gas or by different sources. The design reduces energy loss caused by the trumper effect as the jet of material entrains the ambient air with it, thus increasing the range and reducing particle dispersion.
