Abstract

1,021,371. Spray-producers. HOVERCRAFT DEVELOPMENT Ltd. Jan. 3, 1963 [Jan. 4, 1962], No. 429/62. Heading B2F. [Also in Division B7] A flexible nozzle comprises inflatable components I and 2 having inner and outer walls connected by tie cords 8 and 9 respectively and attached by headings 12 and 14 to ducts 4 and 5. Gas is delivered from a compressor (not shown) to duct 3 for discharge from the nozzle, the gas passing also to the interiors of components 1 and 2 to inflate them, the flow passing through ducts 4 and 5, which act as recuperation chambers. Deformation of the nozzle components e.g. upon impact with an obstacle, will cause gas to flow temporarily into the recuperation chambers.
