Abstract

The mobile overhead maintenance platform comprises a whelled chassis to which a mast is fixed (18). The platform proper (60) is overhung from a slide (30) travelling up and down the mast under the action of a hoist (68) mounted at the top of the mast and coupled to it by a rope (72). The mast can be constructed of two adjacent corner guides and two adjacent angle pieces, forming a vertical square section. Inside this is a central vertical guide, making three guides in all for the platform slide. One of the corner guides can be joined to the adjacent angle piece by horizontal bars at regular intervals, forming rungs for an access ladder to the platform.
