Abstract

The metal scaffolding unit which is used primarily for repair work at fairly low levels consists of a base section which has two ladders (1) supported on a frame (2) on wheels (3). This fixed section supports a movable upper section which has two cross-braced ladders (8) on which is supported a work platform (9). The two ladders of the upper section are able to slide up and down on the lower ladders and can be locked in position at the required height. The upper ladders have extension-pieces allowing the attachment of safety rails. The cross-braces of the ladders can be removed, enabling the top ladders to the dropped right down and the whole unit to be retracted to facilitate transportation or storage.
