Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de polymères ou de copolymères d' alpha -oléfines. Ce procédé comprend polymérisation ou la copolymérisation d' alpha -oléfines contenant au moins 3 atomes de carbone en la présence d'un catalyseur comprenant : A. Un complexe de titane solide consistant essentiellement de magnésium, de titane, d'halogène et d'un donneur d'électrons; B. Un composé organométallique d'un métal des groupes I à III du tableau périodique. La polymérisation est réalisée en deux étapes; une première étape dans laquelle environ 100 millimoles, par millimole d'atome de titane, d'une a-oléfine est polymérisée à des températures inférieures à environ 50 degrés C pour former un polymere en une quantité non supérieure à environ 30 % en poids du produit final obtenu dans la seconde étape, et une seconde étape dans laquelle le produit final est formé à une température supérieure à la temperature de la première étape et allant d'environ 50 degrés C à environ 90 degrés C.The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of polymers or copolymers of alpha-olefins. The polymerization is carried out in two stages; a first step in which about 100 millimoles, per millimole of titanium atom, of an α-olefin is polymerized at temperatures below about 50 degrees C to form a polymer in an amount not greater than about 30% by weight of the final product obtained in the second step, and a second step in which the final product is formed at a temperature higher than the temperature of the first step and ranging from about 50 degrees C to about 90 degrees C.
