Abstract
L'invention concerne un complexe catalytique de trichlorure de titane et son application à la polymérisation d' alpha -oléfines. Ce complexe est obtenu en réduisant du tétrachlorure de titane au moyen d'un composition d'un halogénure d'alkylaluminium à basse température et traitement des solides réduits résultants par mise en contact à une température élevée avec un éther dialkylique ayant des groupes alkyle de 4 à 5 atomes de carbone et avec de l'hexachloro-éthane la proportion de l'éther dialkylique étant d'au moins 1 mole par mole d'hexachloro-éthane et la proportion d'hexachloro-éthane, étant au moins supérieure à environ 0,5 mole par atome-gramme de titane dans le produit solide réduit.
