Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtan a high-stereoregularity, high-bulk density polymer efficiently, by polymerizing a 3C or higher olefin in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a specified titanium catalytic component, an organic Al compound catalytic component and an electron donor component.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst is prepared from a titanium catalytic component obtained by treating a titanium complex having Mg, Ti, halogens and an electron donor, e.g., acetone, as essential components with 0.1W10mol., per mol titanium in the complex, of an organic Al compound, e.g., triethylaluminum; an organic Al compound catalytic component, e.g., tributylaluminum; and an electron donor component, e.g., ethyl benzoate. Then, the polymer of the purpose is obtained by polymerizing a 3C or higher α-olefin, e.g., propylene, in the presence of the catalyst.
