Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour préparer un polymère ou un copolymère d'une oléfine ayant au moins 3 atomes de carbone, et qui consiste à polymériser ou à copolymériser une oléfine ayant au moins 3 atomes de carbone et contenant 0 à 10 moles % d'éthylène ou une dioléfine en présence d'un catalyseur formé d'un composé d'organoaluminium, d'un donneur d'électrons et d'un composant de titane solide. Selon l'invention, le catalyseur se compose de : 1. un composé d'organoaluminium consistant en : a. un composé d'organoaluminium sans atome d'halogène directement lié à l'atome d'aluminium, exprimé par R**13 A1, où R**1 représente un groupe choisi dans la classe consistant en un atome d'hydrogène, des groupes alcoyle de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone, des groupes cycloalcoyle de 5 à 12 atomes de carbone, des groupes aryle de 6 à 12 atomes de carbone, des groupes alcoxy de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone, des groupes cycloalcoxy de 5 à 12 atomes de carbone et des groupes aryloxy de 6 à 12 atomes de carbone et les trois groupes R**1 sont identiques ou différents, et b. un composé d'organoaluminium ayant des atomes d'halogène directement liés à l'atome d'aluminium et exprimé par la formule R**1n AIXm R**23 -n-m, où R** 1 est tel que défini ci-dessus, R**2 représente un groupe choisi la classe consistant en atome d'hydrogène, groupes alcoxy de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone, et groupes aryloxy de 6 à 12 atomes de carbone, X représente un atome d'halogène, O < n < 3, O < m < 3, et O < n + m <= 3, le rapport (X/A1) des atomes d'halogène (X) à l'atome d'aluminium (A1) étant O < X/A1 < 1,2. un donneur d'électrons, et 3. un composant de titane solide contenant un halogène qui est le produit de réaction d'un composé de magnésium, d'un donneur d'électrons et d'un composé de titane tétravalent où le rapport du donneur d'électrons (moles) à l'atome de titane n'est pas inférieur à 0,2 et le rapport des atomes d'halogène à l'atome de titane n'est pas inférieur à 4, avec au moins 80 % en poids du composé de titane tétravalent dans le composant 3 insolubles dans le n-heptane bouillant, au moins 50 % en poids du composé de titane tétravalent insolubles dans TiCl4 à 80 degrés C et l'aire superficielle du produit insoluble dans TiCl4 à 80 degrés C et l'aire superficielle du composant 3 tel quel sont supérieures à 40 m**2/g.
