Abstract

L'invention concerne les guides d'ondes à fibres optiques. Elle se rapporte à une fibre optique qui comprend une âme il et un revêtement 12 de verre, de manière classique, et autour un revêtement métallique 13 appliqué dès la formation de la fibre afin qu'il évite toute perturbation de la surface de celle-ci et lui permette donc de conserver une résistance mécanique très élevée. Le revêtement 12 de verre a une épaisseur d'au moins 20 microns, et le revêtement métallique a une épaisseur avantageusement comprise entre 5 et 100 microns. Application à la réalisation de guides d'ondes optiques à résistance mécanique élevée.
