Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable production of economical composite cable with optical fiber without deforming the power cable, by burying a glass fiber cable in part of cable such as coaxial cable and power cable. CONSTITUTION:A composite cable consists of a glass fiber 1, a coaxial core 2, a coaxial outer conductor 3, a dielectric 4, a cable protective film 5, a power cable conductor 6, and a holding dielectric 7. As an example, glass fibers 1, 1' are buried in the dielectric 4 of coaxial cable. In another example, when the coaxial core 2 of the coaxial cable is hollow, the glass fiber is passed into this hollow space. Or, when the power cable 6 of larger hollow space is used, the glass fiber 1 is provided by way of the holding dielectric 7. The optical fiber is free from effects of external electric field, and since these composite cables are integral, they can be manufactured economically.
