Abstract

L'invention concerne la réduction carbothermique de l'alumine. Elle se rapporte à un procédé qui comprend la transmission du carbone et de l'alumine à un lit réactionnel fondu placé dans un creuset disposé à la partie inférieure d'un réacteur. Le lit reçoit de l'énergie par contact avec un plasma d'un canon à plasma. Le lit lui-même peut former l'électrode auxiliaire pour le canon qui décrit un mouvement orbital. Application à la préparation carbothermique d'aluminium métallique.
