Abstract

Prepn. of aq. suspensions of fertilisers by adding NH3 gas to water, then vigorously mixing with monoammonium phosphate (50-165 kg per 100 litres of water) to give an N/P2O5 ratio soluble in water of 0.27-0.4; then argile, p-pref. attapulgite, is added at 5.5-11 kg/100 litres of water followed opt. by KCl and nitrogeneous cpds., e.g. NH4-NO3 and urea. Suspensions are stable do not settle or grow crystals during transport and storage. A typical suspension was prepd. by mixing waters (161 kg) with 22.3% NH4OH (59kg) then adding NH4H2PO4 with stirring, then attapulgite (18 kg).
