Abstract

L'invention concerne l'hydrogénation sélective d'essences de pyrolyse Elle est caractérisée par l'emploi d'un catalyseur particulièrement sélectif, constitue par un sulfure de cobalt-tungstène sur un support d'alumine à grande surface spécifique. Les diènes et les styrènes, qui sont des constituants réactifs rendant l'essence très instable, sont hydrogénés sélectivement, et le soufre des mercaptans est considérablement abaissé, sans qu'il se produise une hydrogénation notable des oléfines et sans formation de matières polymères, et le produit traité a une courbe de distillation ASTM identique à celle de l'essence de départ. Cette sélectivité est souhaitable pour éviter d'abaisser l'indice d'octane de l'essence traitée
