Abstract

Des particules solides d'une matière combustible (par exemple charbon) associées à une matière inerte (par exemple cendres) sont soumises à une ségrégation pour les séparer en fractions respectives de densité/dimension faibles et de densité/dimension élevées. On envoie les fractions de faibles densité/dimension vers une zone d'utilisation 17 où la matière combustible est transformée. Les fractions de densité/dimension élevées sont réduites en dimension (par exemple par broyage) et sont soit renvoyées à la zone de ségrégation 13, soit dirigées au moins pour partie directement vers la zone d'utilisation. La ségrégation peut être réalisée en fonction de la dimension et/ou de la densité des particules par fluidisation et, dans la zone d'utilisation, la matière combustible peut être au moins partiellement brûlée, de préférence en lit fluidisé. Application à la combustion du charbon ou à la préparation de matières premières pour processus chimiques.
