Abstract
1526145 Dense aggregates from colliery wastes COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 29 April 1977 [21 May 1976] 21043/76 Heading C1A A dense aggregate is produced from particulate material containing a proportion of a combustible substance (e.g. minestone of colliery washery tailings) by introducing the material, which may be partially dried and also ground, into or on to a shot fluidized bed, fluidized at such a rate as to cause entrainment of a relatively large proportion of fines in gases issuing from the bed and maintained at such a temperature that the combustible substance is substantially completely burned; separating the fines from the gases; forming the fines into pellets and firing the pellets to give a dense aggregate.
