Abstract

The wheels of a single axled articulated trailer are separately pivoted about vertical supports, and are joined by a steering rod. The steering linkage is linked to a turn-table under the front of the trailer from where a steering arm is linked to the tow bar. The steering is arranged so that the trailer wheels turn in the opposite direction to the towing unit steering wheels for correct tracking. The trailer steering provides accurate tracking so that the trailer does not drag into the curves, and with a min. of tyre scrub.
