Abstract
On utilise des catalyseurs ayant une surface spécifique d'au maximum 100 m**2/g et d'un porosité et une grosseur de particules telles qu'une relation donnée entre ces paramètres et la pression partielle d'hydrogène utilisée soit satisfaite. La figure montre une installation qui comprend une unité d'hydrodémétallisation 1. Une huile résiduelle d'hydrocarbures 6 contenant des métaux et du soufre est soumise à une hydro-démétallisation en même temps que deux courants de gaz 7 et 8 contenant de l'hydrogène et de l'hydrogène sulfuré et, si on le désire, un courant d'hydrogène sulfuré 9 provenant d'une source extérieure Le produit ainsi obtenu 10 est séparé en un courant liquide Il d'une basse teneur en métaux et un courant gazeux 7 contenant de l'hydrogène et de l'hydrogène sulfuré, ce dernier courant étant recyclé à l'unité de démétallisation. Application aux huiles ayant une teneur totale en vanadium et en nickel supérieure à 250 ppm en poids.
