Abstract

The plant is used for composting household and industrial refuse after grinding to a particle size of 30 mm dia. opt. mixed with conc. decantation sludge. The materials, stored in the hopper are first homogenised in the mixer, which is fed by the dosing extractor, where they are also impregnated with a humidifying liq. They are then compacted by the endless screw rotating in the sleeve. This is pierced with holes through which excess humidifying liq. is evacuated. The compacted matter is finally taken by the conveyor to the fermentation plant. The well homogenised mass thus prepd., with the optimum degree of humidity for fermentation produces a high quality compost in a relatively short time at a reasonable cost.
