Abstract

The refuse incineration plant processes refuse by pyrolysis and by burning. The refuse is thermally conditioned in successive stages which ensures smooth increase of the temperature of the refuse bulk. All temp. stages are passed through without combustion of the pyrolysis gases. The premature ignition of more readily combustible materials is also prevented. The plant has central vessel with top charging hopper (3) and fire grid (4) at the bottom. Gases are withdrawn from the central vessel at the top. The central vessel is enclosed by another vessel (2) and the annular space (10) is connected to the ducts (11) for the gases (48, 49) generated. Combustion air is blown into the annular space (10).
