Abstract

The pressure limiting valve consists of a housing provided with an inlet union (2) from the high pressure supply and an outlet union (3) to the low pressure user. The housing contains a sprung piston (4) with an outer annular collar (8). The collar works with a valve seat (9) fixed to the housing inner wall. The safety valve (26) is fitted to co axial to the pressure limiting piston and consists of a spring loaded semi-spherical valve (28) working with a valve seat (29) in the limiting valve. When the storage pressure flow exceeds 9.5 atmospheres the limiting valve spring pressure is overcome. The safety valve opens and excess pressure enters the chamber (22) below the piston (4) to escape to atmosphere via a non return valve (23).
