Abstract

Reservoir for stick-shaped objects such as cigarettes includes a receiving equipment for stacks of the objects delivered in a direction across the objects. The stacks are moved inside the reservoir by a conveying equipment and stored in the reservoir. The objects are retained by separating the reservoir from its supply source and moving it away. the drive of the conveying equipment is connectable to a drive of the delivering equipment and is reversible. The conveying equipment moves and stores the objects in the reservoir in a continuous stream. Such a reservoir is useful for delaying output when e.g. a packing machine is already working to full capacity.
