Abstract
1309071 Composite endless conveyer belts and chains MOLINS MACHINE CO Ltd 23 April 1970 [24 Jan 1969 14 Feb 1969] 8313/69 and 18469/70 Divided out of 1299174 Heading B8A A conveyer belt comprises a surface member which is flexible so as to be capable of passing round a pulley and is slotted at regular intervals from at least one edge so as to be capable of curving laterally, and includes a longitudinally extending chain which is joined to the surface member at longitudinal intervals, and has its links pivoted about axes lying normal to the direction of conveyance. The conveyer may thus be arranged to move along a substantially helical path. As shown, the surface member is made of nylon and is secured to the chain at intervals by nylon studs 326. The surface member is formed in sections of eighteen limbs 312 which are joined to the next adjacent sections by integral nylon studs 321. These are glued in corresponding apertures in the first part-limb of the adjacent section. Integral upstanding members 322 form a confining wall on either side of the conveyer for locating a stack of cigarettes. Downwardly projecting pads 342 form shoes for sliding engagement with guides 336. The conveyer may thus provide an endless belt which may have a helical configuration as described in Specification 1,299,174. Members of a discharge platform may engage recesses formed by pressed-out portions 342, or a recess 345.
