Abstract

The feed pattern for silver to an intermittently acting comber, for use in fine worsted spinning, uses silver in not more than two rows. While the silver is being forced through, each silver has an elliptical shape then each silver is pressed flat into a rectangular shape. It is then given a thermal fixing treatment to form the lap. The process gives a lap of constant thickness formed by the silver material, which increases the capacity of the silver and combining machine.
