Abstract
The water-closet (1) with odour extractor has a ventilation pipe (6) leading from the upper zones of the pan. The undesirable gases are extracted by suction, this being accelerated by an extractor (7) associated with a power waste pulveriser, which may be automatic. The system may include a collector (2) which forms the inlet to the ventilation pipe (6) and may be incorporated in the seat or the rim of the pan. The seat type collector (2) may take the form of a 'D' section tube with the flat face forming the base. The base projects over the interior of the pan and includes inlet orifices. The pan rim type collector may use a duct built into the rim. Extraction may be initiated by door closure or pressure on the seat.
