Abstract

104,451. Holliday, A. Sept. 6, 1916. Closets, ventilating. -A water-closet pan, commode, or the like is provided with an annular chamber B extending round its upper part and either formed integral with, or fitted over, the top thereof. The chamber, which is strengthened by internal ribs E, is open to the basin around its rear part and is also provided around the front part with perforations G through its inner wall. The whole of the chamber B is in communication with a ventilating-flue D, of which the draught may be assisted by a fan or a gas jet. In the case of a night commode, the flue may be passed into the chimney of the room. One ventilating-flue may serve for a number of closets.
