Abstract

The engine (1) has an inlet manifold (2) connected to a carburettor (3). A pipe (4) is connected to the inlet manifold (2) and is provided with three orifices (7, 8, 9) arranged in series. The space between orifices (7, 8) is connected to the air space above the water tank (5). A pipe from the bottom of the tank (5) is connected to a nozzle (10) mounted in a chamber (13) in the pipe (4) between the orifices (8, 9). Because of the pressure drop across the orifices (7, 8, 9), water is sucked out of the tank (5) and sprayed into the air in the chamber (13). This mixture of air and water then flow through the orifice (9) into the engine (1).
