Abstract

Tube welding installation, in which guide and bending devices feed at least one metal strip through an inductor, heating the edges of the strip being welded together, and towards the forging rolls. Between the inductor and the bent strip(s) is a concentrator matching the bore of the inductor and the external surface of the strip(s), the bore of the concentrator matching the bent strip(s) being displaced axially w.r.t. the inductor, towards the forging rolls. The concentrator is pref. fitted with a nose which enters the gap between the forging rolls, covering the edges being welded together, and the inductor and/or the concentrator can pref. be displaced axially. Used in welding plant with a high output making tubes below 20 mm dia. with wall- thickness below 0.8 mm.
