Abstract

The tap for domestic water supply has a body of brass or similar material. The cover and water outlet is of plastic and is swaged onto the body. The upper part of the body has an internal screw thread into which a plug is screwed by means of a knob. The tap is shut off when an O-ring which is fitted in a groove, makes contact with the bore in the body. The upper part of the cover is formed into a lip seal which presses against the surface of the plug. The plug is prevented from being screwed out by shoulder abutting against the lip seal.
