Abstract

The valve plug body (1) has an annular seating (3) of semicircular section in which is fitted an O-ring (4) or similar plastic seal. An annular recess (10) is machined in the upper face of the seating, near the top of the seal. This recess communicates with the under face (9) of the plug, on the outlet side, by means of holes (6a, 6b, 6c) drilled at regularly spaced intervals in the inner face of the recess. When the valve is opened, the controlled liquid enters the outlet (2) to create a pressure drop on the plug face which holds the seal in place.
