Abstract

A hair dryer which at the same time is used to assist curling the hair, has a cylinder (1) secured between end plates (2) mounted on a tube (4) so that air can be sucked through it. A coiled strip forms an extension of the cylinder, round which the hair is wound as it is being dried. The hair is drawn sideways into the coil, assisted by the suction. A roller brush can also be added alongside the entry slot to assist the entry. A smaller diameter heater tube may also be retained alongside so that hot air can be blown onto the hair as it is drawn in. The drying cylinder can be mounted on the input side of a suction unit, and the heater cylinder mounted on the output side. A spiral heating element is housed inside the heater cylinder.
