Abstract
The electronically controlled vehicle drive system operates in three modes, the first with the engine only connected to the drive, the second with a flywheel only connected, and the third with both connected. Force coverters are brought into operation so that during connection and disconnection, the speed of the flywheel is maintained above a determined low level. The force is applied to the flywheel only when the speed of the engine exceeds a given low level, by means of a centrifugally actuated device, which is in turn, hydraulically operated by a fluid system. The flywheel is driven by the engine, when a reduction in speed occurs and when the ratio between the two speeds is less than 2.5 to 1.
